Honeymoonin' Part 2

We had so much fun on our cruise. We got on our cruise on Sunday and jetted off to so many places. We were starving by the time we got there. We located our room and headed to the cafeteria. We both enjoyed taco salads. We set off and after a while the boat got a little rocky. I didn't feel good and so I took a dramamine. The thing about that medication is you feel drowsy, so it was either I take the medication and take a nap or not take the medication and feel sick. I only took it a few times because I wanted to enjoy our cruise. We set off and it was so fun to do all the different activities that they had on the cruise. We throughly enjoyed the shows, the piano bar, and the casino. We first stopped in the Dominican Republic. I didn't feel too good and had a very sore throat. I was hard to swallow or even eat. This was the worst type of sore throat I have ever had. Well, my loving husband gave me strep throat and we were in a foreign country with no doctor or medications. We called our doctor and asked what we should do because I wanted to enjoy myself but I was also in pain. He said that we should check some of the local pharmacies in the DR as they don't require a prescription to get antibiotics or narcotics. So if you need to stock up on meds, I recommend the DR. We went to the local pharmacy and got a zpak for both of us and I was feeling much better by about day 3 of antibiotics.

While we were in the DR, we went on a tour with another couple. Our driver spoke Spanish and Brandon said that I could speak Spanish. The driver spoke Spanglish pretty well but when the other couple asked a question that the driver didn't understand, he would point to me and said "Lady, translate, lady". He was so nice and we got to see the countryside of the DR. We ended up spending some time on the beach, which wasn't that pretty if you ask me. There was seaweed everywhere but a little friend, a crab, joined us at the beach. On our way back, the driver asked how I knew Spanish and I said I served a mission and learned Spanish. He asked if we were Mormon and I said that we belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints. He was catholic but said that mormons were very nice people and willing to help. We got back to the cruise ship and set sail for a private island owned by Carnival, Half Moon Cay.

We arrived at Half Moon Cay and it was fun to just sit and read by the beach. I really enjoyed the relaxation of it all but the water was so cold that I didn't even want to get in but once you got all wet, it felt pretty warm. We stayed on the beach for a little bit and ordered my favorite drink, Pina Colada's. The wait staff of the crew ship served drinks on the island and we were able to have lunch. It was mainly served cafeteria style and my throat still hurt a little bit from the strep. It was fun to walk around the island. We saw a mama chicken with her eight chickadees. It made us miss our chickens whom we left at home in the care of a wonderful neighbor. We are truly grateful for neighbors that take care of them while we were away on our honeymoon.

On our way to our last stop, the Bahamas, we were able to pass by Cuba. It was really interesting to learn about Cuba while we were in Miami and the history it has there. It does make me grateful that I was privileged and born in the United States and to be born to parents who support our founding fathers and the freedoms that we throughly enjoy today.
While we were in the Bahamas, we did some souvenir shopping and got something for our neighbors who were watching the chickens for us. I decided to get my hair braided and boy was that an adventure. It was fun but taking all those elastic bands out hurt so much that I almost regretted doing the braiding. I do have to realize that it was a good cause and was helping those Bahamian women make a living and a better life for their children. We shopped and my sweet husband even spoiled me by buying a Louie Vuitton bag. It was so fun to pick it out and has been the best gift that I have ever used. We needed our cruise with a wonderful time on the cruise by exploring and listening to the piano bar. We didn't fair to bad at the casino but we walked away with $40  playing slots and blackjack. We enjoyed the comedy club, shows, and even played bingo. Although, Brandon said he will never play bingo again on a cruise ship. I enjoyed all the memories we made. But my favorite part of the cruise was spending time with my best friend by ending our night eating pizza with some ice cream and watching Harry Potter. I am the luckiest girl in the world and know that Heavenly Father put Brandon in my path to make me a better person and to show me what true love is really about. Love you to infinity and back, babe!
